Conviviology

An applied science to create tools for conviviality.

Convivial tools optimize and enhance our individual / collective capacity

to live within + among one another in relationship

to the natural scale + limit of place.

In 1972 Ivan Illich published Tools for Conviviality in which he defined conviviality as the ability to live within and among one another in relationship to the natural scale and limit of place.

Conviviology – I propose – is the über social science of our time discovering how we, a diversified global humanity speaking hundreds of languages, each of us with a unique worldview experiencing life in a unique biome, can live among one another sharing a single precious planet.
